Research Components

Project design and interventions

Selected villages are allocated to one of three arms, where two sets of interventions are implemented:

  1. Biophysical

  2. Empowerment/adaptive capacity interventions.

Each set involves three interventions:

Arm 3 is the control and receives only the standard vector control activities from the Ministry of Health. The total trial period for the interventions is 22 months. Measurements were taken in August 2018, before the interventions were implemented, and every six months thereafter. So far, follow-up surveys have been conducted in February 2019 and August 2019. Biannual surveying will continue until the end of the trial period.
